South Korea shuts more nuclear reactors

South Korea has taken two more nuclear reactors off line because of safety concerns, cutting available nuclear capacity by 2GW, or 10pc of total capacity, and raising the prospect of energy shortages this summer. Operator Korea Hydro and Nuclear Power (KHNP) has halted operations at the Shin-Kori No 2 and Shin-Wolsong No 1 reactors after they were found to be using cables with falsified quality certificates.
