NBP prompt prices rally

UK NBP prompt prices climbed in July as the UK system was persistently short and traders prepared for heavy UK and Norwegian maintenance. Day-ahead prices rose to 66.95p/th from 64.30p/th during 1-31 June, while August climbed by 1.55p/th to 66.90p/ th as a result of continued tightness and the start of maintenance at the Forties system in the North Sea on 1-6 August, as well as planned outages through the month including work at the key Kollsnes processing plant and the Langeled pipeline. A much weaker LNG delivery schedule through July and early August compared with the same months last year supported prices.
