Golar secures funds for LNG newbuilds

Bermuda-based shipping firm Golar LNG has secured a $1.125bn financing agreement to support its newbuild programme. The financing, which is split into three term loans funded by Korea Trade Insurance, the Export Import Bank of Korea and a syndicate of commercial banks, will fund the first eight of Golar’s 13 planned new LNG vessels and floating storage and regasification units (FSRUs).
