Japan boosted LNG imports from its major suppliers in the Middle East and Asia-Pacific in April, offsetting a decline from more far-flung exporters to take total imports to 7.1mn t. LNG imports were higher by 2.1pc from 6.9mn t in April last year but down by 8.9pc from 7.7mn t in March, according to detailed data from the country’s ministry of finance.
