China jails steel ofcials for pollution violations

A court in the Chinese city of Tangshan has ordered jail terms and fnes for 47 steel mill ofcials for falsifying emissions data and violating pollution controls last year. The court ordered jail terms of 6-18 months and fnes against two mills in judgments for environmental cases against four mills issued yesterday, the city said in a statement.
