Japan bought more LNG from Australia in August, sending total imports higher compared with a year earlier. Japan's LNG imports totalled 7.7mn t in August, up by 9.4pc from the same month last year, according to data from the fi nance ministry. Australian supply surged, increasing by 21.1pc from a year earlier to 2.3mn t - the highest monthly level on record.
