Global LNG imports rise by 2.1pc

Global LNG trade rose by 2.1pc to 241mn t last year, Parisbased gas industry association Cedigaz says. Cedigaz highlights a reversal in trends in Asia and Europe - demand in the former fell for the first time since 2009 and the latter’s imports increased after three consecutive years of declines. Total imports for Asia-Pacific dropped to 172mn t last year from 178mn t in 2014. North American imports fell to 9.2mn t from 9.9mn t in the same period.
