Trinidad LNG, gas production extend declines

Trinidad and Tobago gas output has plunged to a 10-year low, further eroding LNG production from the Atlantic plant. The Caribbean country produced 2.4mn m~3 of LNG in January, down by 14.7pc on the year, energy ministry data show. Gas production averaged 3.819bn ft~3/d (39.3bn m~3/ yr), 7.2pc lower than a year earlier. LNG production totalled 28.9mn m~3 last year, 7.2pc lower than in 2014, while gas output fell by 5.9pc to 3.835bn ft~3/d. Gas production in 2015 was “the lowest in the past 10 years,” the ministry says.
