Tokyo Gas starts Hitachi import terminal

Japanese gas retailer Tokyo Gas has started commercial operations at its Hitachi LNG import terminal, boosting supply of pipeline gas in the Kanto area of central Japan. Tokyo Gas began operations at the terminal, in Ibaraki prefecture, on 24 March, after five months of tests (AGL, November, p12). Hitachi has LNG and LPG berth facilities with a 93,000t LNG storage tank and a 26,000t LPG tank.
