India’s Adani offers terminal stake

Indian private-sector utility Adani Power has offered a 49pc stake in the proposed 5mn t/yr Dhamra LNG import terminal on the country’s east coast to state-controlled gas distributor Gail and refiner IOC. IOC and Gail signed an initial agreement with Adani in May last year to participate in the Dhamra terminal in Orissa state. The companies, which had earlier sought a 50pc stake in the project, have reserved a major part of the facility’s regasification capacity to supply IOC’s refineries in Haldia and Paradip, as well as other consumers.
