Japan’s Toho Gas expects its LNG demand to rise by 4pc from a year earlier to 3.1mn t in the 2016-17 fiscal year that started on 1 April, buoyed by strong demand growth particularly from the industrial sector. The Nagoya-based firm is projecting that its gas sales will rise by 3pc to 4.1bn m~3 in 2016-17, supported by a 4pc increase in sales to industrial users. The industrial sector is expected to account for 74pc or 3bn m~3 of the company’s total gas sales in 2016-17. LPG sales are tipped to increase by 3pc to 447,000t over the same period.
