Manufacturers must act now to cut energy consumption and keep costs under control, says Swindon Silicon Systems, which explores the essential role of Internet of Things (IoT) sensors in energy management. The industrial sector accounts for 38 percent of total global final energy use, according to a 2021 International Energy Agency report. As energy prices and out-of-contract rates rise, and show no sign of stopping, companies need ways to reduce their energy usage, especially as they don't benefit from the same energy price caps as household consumers.
