Ferc denies Cove Point rehearing

The US Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (Ferc) has rejected requests by BP and environmental lobby groups to hold a rehearing of its approval of the Cove Point LNG export project in Maryland. The decision paves the way for the US Department of Energy to finalise a conditional licence, which it had granted to Cove Point to export LNG to countries that do not have free trade agreements with the US.
