Excelerate blasts DOE’s LNG proposals

The US Department of Energy’s(DOE)proposed changes to its authorisation process for LNG exports will hamper the ability of US projects to compete globally and turn the coun-try’s regulatory process“into a crapshoot”,US LNG shipper Excelerate Energy says. Excelerate plans to install a floating liquefaction vessel in Port Lavaca,Texas.The project was third in the queue that the DOE established in 2012 for considering applications to export LNG to countries that do not have free trade agree-ments(FTAs)with the US.
