Trinidadian proven gas reserves decline

LNG exporter Trinidad and Tobago’s proven natural gas reserves fell by 7pc to 12.24 trillion ft~3 (346bn m~3) last year compared with 2012. The revised reserve figure released by the country’s energy ministry is based on the results of a government-commissioned audit by US energy consultancy Ryder Scott. This year’s audit shows that probable reserves decreased by 10pc to 5.56 trillion ft~3, while possible reserves increased by 2pc to 6.11 trillion ft~3. Unrisked exploratory resources are estimated at 39.86 trillion ft~3, up by 29.9pc, according to Ryder Scott.
