CDM should learn from voluntary market

The voluntary emissions reduction (VER) market is well equipped to be a model for the clean development mechanism (CDM), carbon project certifier Gold Standard Foundation chief executive Adrian Rimmer said at the Carbon Expo conference. “The CDM was designed to provide a global framework, but that is having its troubles,” Rimmer said. “The voluntary market can create a high benchmark. The role of the voluntary market is to consistently innovate and drive investment into carbon projects and activities.”
