Sales of diesel fuel in India rose by 5.8% in September versus August as the onset of the festival season and a return to a more normal weather pattern after a dry August boosted transportation demand. Diesel sales amounted to 1.45 million b/d in September versus 1.37 million b/d in August, according to data from state-controlled refiners which account for around 90% of India's fuel sales. September gasoline sales came in at 789,500 b/d, up 9.1% from 723,300 b/d in August.
