Every May, STRL holds an open house where the latest research results of STRL are open to the public. Although it has been held purely online last year due to COVID-19, a hybrid event consisting of both actual and online exhibits was held from May 26 to 29 in 2022, and many visitors came to enjoy the physical displays during that period. This issue provides an overview of the STRL Open House 2022. More information on each topic is available online. Please feel free to visit that website and take a look. This issue also introduces the latest trends in flexible displays, which enable televisions that can be attached to walls like posters or even rolled up or folded up for transport and storage. Such developments have the potential to significantly change the way people watch television. As always, NHK STRL is conducting a wide range of research from systems to devices with the aim of realizing the broadcast media of the future. (S.A.)
