The Dutch government has received several licence applica-tions from firms looking to develop shale gas in the country,but any decision on the matter is at least six months away.The Dutch ministry of economic affairs says it hasrecently received exploration licence requests from UK firmsCuadrilla Resources and Hutton Energy and Canada's GallicEnergy. The licence requests are for the areas of Brabant,Limburg and Zeeland. The ministry says any decision wouldtake between six months and a year.
