摘要

We seek designs for architectural and urban spaces that utilize big data. This competition will evaluate the logic of using some form of data and incorporating the results of its analysis into spatial design. Concrete data is fine, or even imaginary data that one would like to use in a particular way if one had access to it. Any type of data on any scale is acceptable, but the following three conditions must be met:1)data must be used; 2) a framework for analyzing the data must be presented; and 3) the results of the analysis must be incorporated into the design of architectural or urban spaces. Background: The way we perceive and create architecture and cities is undergoing a dramatic shift. We have entered an era in which advances in digital technology are measuring our activities with unprecedented granularity, while data is capturing human behavior that up until now could only be imagined in the minds of architects and urban planners. With the help of artificial intelligence (AI) and other technologies, the patterns behind things that were invisible to the human eye and hand are being uncovered. This is truly the golden age of big data.
