Spain’s Cepsa to offer LNG bunkering at Barcelona

Spanish energy company Cepsa plans to provide LNG bunkering services, using a specialised bunker vessel, at the port of Barcelona by 2018. The plans form part of the Core LNGas Hive project, which consists of a group of companies that aim to have shore-to-ship or ship-to-ship LNG bunkering facilities at the port of every Spanish LNG terminal by 2018. Cepsa has partnered with Spanish shipowner and operator Flota Suardiaz for the design and construction of the vessel, which would also be able to provide other bunker fuels.
