EU states not implementing energy saving measures

The economic slowdown rather than energy efficiency measures will close the gap towards the EU’s goal of reducing its energy consumption by 20pc in 2020, according to energy efficiency group the Coalition for Energy Savings. The European Commission estimates that for every 1pc improvement in EU energy efficiency, gas imports fall by 2.6pc.
