Repairs on the mild hydrocracking (MHC) unit closed by a fire at Romania’s 105,000 b/d Midia refinery are scheduled to be completed in the autumn, Kazakh-owned operator Rompetrol Rafinare said. Works on the unit — which has been offline since the 21 June fire — are carried out by engineering subsidiary Rominserv, with support from “specialised subcontractors”, the firm said. It did not give details on the unit’s expected restart. It has taken a 31.4mn Lei impairment related to the fire.
