Paris-based consumer group the International Energy Agency (IEA) - which marked its 35th anniversary with a ministerial meeting attended by Russia, China and India - wants to extend its emergency crude oil response capabili- ties to the gas sector. The intention of the meeting, held on 15-16 October in Paris, was to "ensure a smooth transition to a low-carbon economy and a more secure, sustain- able and cleaner energy future as soon as possible", the IEA says.
