Agriculture MEPs vote to veto organic salt regulation

The European Parliament’s Agriculture Committee has voted to veto a draft regulation laying down production and labelling standards for organic rock and sea salt. The proposal is an implementing law to the 2018 organic foods regulation (2018/848), which took effect on 1 January 2022 allowing producers to label salt as ‘organic’ and stamp the product with the EU organic logo.
