India’s light distillates production in March rose 13.3% month on month to 6.69 million mt as some refineries ramped up operations following spring maintenance to meet stronger domestic demand,the latest data from the Petroleum Planning & Analysis Cell showed.On a year-on-year basis,production of light distillates was down 1.1% compared to 6.76 million mt in March 2022,the data showed.The higher light distillates production was driven mainly by more gasoline output.India produced 4.05 million mt of gasoline in March,rising 14.86% month on month to hit at least a 13-year high.This was the first time India’s monthly gasoline production exceeded 4 million mt,based on PPAC historical data dating back to April 2010.
