Canada aims to signifcantly increase its carbon tax as part of a plan to slash the country’s greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. Prime minster Justin Trudeau on 11 December unveiled a broad set of policy and clean energy investment proposals that seek to help Canada surpass its commitments under the Paris climate agreement and put the country on a path to net-zero greenhouse gas emission by mid-century.
