Chubu targets Hamaoka reactor restarts

Japanese utility Chubu Electric Power aims to restart a reactor at its sole nuclear plant Hamaoka by January 2016, having completed reinforcement work to meet the country’s new safety rules. But the firm’s LNG use is only expected to start falling gradually, with the restart mostly cut- ting crude consumption. Chubu plans to restart the 1.1GW Hamaoka 4 by January 2016, followed by the 1.1GW Hamaoka 3 by January 2017.
