France’s Dunkirk LNG terminal is on track for a 2015 start-up, with the works about 40pc complete and running to budget, developer state-controlled energy group EdF says. The terminal is a joint venture between EdF with 65pc, Belgian transmission system operator Fluxys with 25pc and Total with 10pc. The facility will have an import capacity of 9.4mn t/yr (13bn m~3/yr of dry gas equivalent), representing 20pc of French gas demand, EdF says. The terminal will increase France’s LNG import capacity by 55pc and boost the country’s ability to turn to sources other than European pipeline gas (AGL, July 2011, p16).
