Ferc asked to deny Freeport application

Citizens of Quintana, Texas, a tiny beach front community where the Freeport LNG import terminal is located, have asked the US Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (Ferc) to deny Freeport’s application to build a plant capable of exporting 13.2mn t/yr (51mn m~3/d of dry gas equivalent). In addition, the Quintana City Council does not want the project to be approved unless local concerns are addressed.
