Unions representing workers at Japanese energy firm Inpex’s 8.9mn t/yr Ichthys LNG project in Australia plan to step up their campaign for a shorter working roster. Changes to the roster - or a prolonged campaign of industrial action - could add to the project’s cost and further delay its start-up. The budget has already risen by $3.4bn to $37.4bn, while the start-up date has been pushed back by 6-9 months to the third quarter of next year.
