BPCL seeks LNG suppliers

Indian state-owned refner Bharat Petroleum (BPCL) has issued a tender seeking to register potential LNG suppliers. The tender lays out what BPCL is seeking in LNG suppliers, with the aim of speeding up the import process in the future by preselecting suppliers. Potential suppliers must have minimum turnover of $50mn/yr and net worth of $25mn; must produce or supply LNG from existing liquefaction plants or units involved in the natural gas or LNG sector, or have agreements with liquefaction projects without any delivery and destination restrictions; or must have traded at least two cargoes of at least 75,000m~3 on a spot or term basis in the previous year. The minimum cargo size is well below a standard-size LNG cargo of 60,000-70,000t.
