Puerto Rico’s Aguirre LNG faces regulatory delays

Construction of the Aguirre Offshore GasPort LNG import project off Puerto Rico has been delayed by the need to get approvals from two US federal agencies. US energy regulator Ferc in July last year approved the project in the US commonwealth, but a number of measures must be met before construction can begin. Those include securing permits from the US National Marine Fisheries Services (NMFS) and the US Army Corps of Engineers.
