Trinidad LNG output continues falling

A continuing shortage of natural gas in Trinidad and Tobago reduced LNG production to 28.9mn m~3 (11.7mn t) in 2015, 7.2pc lower than 2014, the energy ministry says. The gas shortage, which started in 2013, expanded last year, with output falling to 3.8bn ft~3/d (39.6bn m~3) in 2015, 5.9pc lower than the previous year. The decline in gas production has helped pushed the country’s economy into recession, the central bank says.
