Shell to build Gibraltar import terminal

Shell will build an LNG regasification and storage terminal in Gibraltar. The gov- ernment of the UK overseas territory is investigating whether the terminal could offer LNG bunkering services, but it has not reached a decision. It could offer low-cost bunkering services because of its “unique tax-free status within the EU”, the port of Gibraltar says. Shell will sup- ply LNG to Gibraltar under a 20-year deal with the government.
