Japan sees mild winter

Japan’s meteorological agency expects average or warmer-than-average weather this winter. The agency’s initial forecast for the December-February winter season points to a 50pc probability of above- average temperatures in eight of Japan’s 12 regions, with just a 20pc chance of below-average and 30pc chance of aver- age temperatures. The eight regions are in either central or southern Japan.
