BG expects price volatility to 2020

The UK’s BG expects LNG prices to be soft in the near term and to remain volatile up to 2020 because of the impact of new volumes from Australia and the US entering the market. Price volatility will decrease from 2020, when demand growth starts to outstrip supply availability, creating a need for new projects such as BG’s Lake Charles facility in Louisiana and planned east African projects. In the context of more volatile prices, new projects may struggle to reach a final investment decision.
