Trinidad gas reserves fall

LNG exporter Trinidad and Tobago’s proven natural gas reserves stand at 13.11 trillion ft~3, down by 1.1pc from a year earlier. The revised reserve figure is based on the results of a government-commissioned audit by US consulting firm Ryder Scott. Despite the drop, the rate of decline has slowed. Trinidad booked a reserve drop of 16pc in 2008. This year’s audit shows that probable reserves rose by 1.6pc to 6.14 trillion ft~3, while possible reserves fell by 2.6pc to 5.99 trillion ft~3. Unrisked exploratory resources are estimated at 31.616 trillion ft~3
