Dutch Gate facility to begin re-exports this month

Rotterdam’s Gate LNG import terminal is now able to re-export cargoes, although it is unlikely to do so to the same extent as the neighbouring Zeebrugge terminal in Belgium, capacity holders say. The re-export equipment has been operational since August, with the first such shipment expected this month. It will travel on a small-scale vessel to the Nynashamn terminal in Sweden, where the world’s first LNG fuelling vessel, Seagas, is stationed. The reexport is part of an agreement between Sweden’s AGA Gas — which owns the Nynashamn terminal — and Dutch energy company Eneco.
