Market split on small-scale LNG indexation

LNG bunkering firms and small-scale project operators are divided on whether to index prices for supply to oil or gas. Pricing indexes used for small-scale LNG projects are strongly linked to a company’s risk appetite, industry participants said on 30 April at the Small-Mid Scale LNG Summit in Amsterdam. “The market is split around 50:50 when it comes to indexing small-scale LNG prices to oil or gas,” Norwegian LNG distributor Skangass said. Small-scale LNG prices vary depending on use and customer, it said (AGL, September, p12).
