Cheniere questions LNG as marine fuel

The low oil price environment calls in question the future of LNG as a marine fuel, according to US firm Cheniere Energy chairman and chief executive Charif Souki. “I would have said two years ago that, yes, a switch to natural gas is very plausible,” Souki said at Columbia University’s Global Energy Summit on 29 April. “Today, the incentive does not exist, so I think it is going to slow down pretty dramatically.”
