Novatek increases Yamal LNG investment

Russian independent gas producer Novatek has increased its investment in the 16.5mn t/yr Yamal LNG project, as the development nears its target date for securing project finance. Novatek had invested 73.48bn roubles ($1.43bn) in Yamal LNG as of 31 March, up from Rbs63.78bn as of 31 December. The firm did not reveal its investment in US dollars. Novatek operates the project with a 60pc stake.
