Canada’s BC awards LNG project site to Woodside

Canada’s British Columbia(BC)prov-ince has awarded Australian independ-ent Woodside Petroleum exclusive rights to develop a gas liquefaction and LNG export terminal at the south site of Grassy Point on the country’s Pacific coast. The right to acquire the land for con-struction or long-term use remains sub-ject to future negotiations and the provin-cial government will consult local indige-nous people over the project.Woodside has submitted C$17mn($15.5mn)to the province that will be subtracted from the final sale price if it acquires the land.
