Woodside sees Leviathan gas reaching Asia

The inclusion of an LNG project as part of the Leviathan gas field development offshore Israel,would see cargoes shipped beyond the Mediterranean to west Asia and the Middle East, Australian independent Woodside Petroleum says. Woodside is interested in Leviathan even if the final con-cept only involves a domestic gas project and a pipeline exporting gas to some of Israel’s neighbours,chief executive Peter Coleman said on 21 February.Continuing discussions on a number of pipeline options between the Leviathan joint venture and other parties include a pipeline to Turkey,another to Cyprus or a Jordan-Egypt pipeline,Coleman says.
