DOE should approve US LNG projects this year

The US Department of Energy(DOE) should approve all pending US LNG export applications by the end of 2014, and risks closing the window of opportu-nity for such projects if it does not speed up the current process,Republican law-makers said on 4 February. “Time is of the essence and the DOE’s slow approval process for LNG exports is squandering the chance to maximise our energy advantage,” Republican members of the House Energy and Commerce Committee say in a report.“America’s window of oppor-tunity will not remain open for long.”
