India’s beleaguered state-run ports are turning to LNG to shore up their business. The Mumbai Port Trust has issued a tender to short list companies to set up a $700mn LNG import facility on the country’s west coast. The port in Maharashtra state is planning to choose a firm to build a 5mn t/yr floating storage and regasification (FSRU) facility near Uran by March next year.
