BG acquisition boosts Shell's LNG output

Shell’s third-quarter LNG production rose by 2.39mn t, or 45pc, from a year earlier to 7.7mn t, boosted by its $54bn acquisition of UK firm BG in February. Shell’s LNG production in the first nine months of this year was 22.31mn t, up from 16.94mn t in the same period of 2015. The company owns stakes or has offtake agreements in LNG production sites in Brunei, Malaysia, Oman, Qatar, Egypt, Russia, Australia, Nigeria, Peru, Trinidad and Tobago and Equatorial Guinea.
