On the basis of soil pH (Soil reaction) the tea soils are classified into three categories which are written below in details:1. Tea soil of low soil pH (below 4.5), i.e., to highly acidic tea soil.2. The tea soil of optimum soil pH (from pH Value 4.5 to 5.5)3. The tea soil of high soil pH (above pH value of 5.5)Soil pH is very important factor for the better production of tea crop and only 4.51 to 5.00 soil pH range is optimum for the best production and quality of tea crop. So the exact soil pH is to be maintained for the better yield of tea crop (Saikh-2018). Generally, sulphur, gypsum, dolomite, lime and rock phosphate (Saikh - 2021) are used for the correction of soil pH.
