摘要

Addis Ababa Water and Sewerage Authority (AAWSA) has awarded its first non-revenue water performance-based contract (PBC) to Miya. The €15.4 million four-year contract is believed to be the largest of its type on the continent, and the first to be financed by the World Bank. The Bank also played a crucial role in developing the project, with technical assistance from the Public-Private Infrastructure Advisory Facility (PPIAF). Samuel Baiya, regional portfolio co-ordinator for East and Southern Africa at PPIAF, told GWI that the contract is a real milestone. "[It] is the first [combined NRW/PBC] in the region and a good example for other countries," he said. "It's going to create a lot of interest."
