US president-elect Donald Trump will prioritise improving relations with Russia, a development that could help open up opportunities for US oil frms. Trump told Russian president Vladimir Putin on 14 November that he is “look- ing forward to having a strong and enduring relationship with Russia and the peo- ple of Russia”, according to the president-elect’s offce. The Kremlin version of their telephone conversation notes that Trump and Putin “not only agreed on the absolutely unsatisfactory state of bilateral relations, but also expressed support for active joint efforts to normalise relations”.
